Business Coaching
We are experienced business coaches working with businesses in the North East of England. We offer one-to-one business coaching programmes to enable you and your business to achieve accelerated growth.
Coaching Definition:
“A partnership for accomplishing a mutual goal”.
The word coach originates from the 1550s. The word relates to a specific kind of carriage. Only important and wealthy people in the 1550s had a carriage. The root meaning of the verb to coach is:
“to convey a valued person from where they are to where they want to be.”
Research shows that now, more than ever before, effective relationships in the working environment are fundamental to successful business operations. Coaching targets high performance and improvement at work which focuses on specific skills and goals, enabling the participant to think through issues in a different way.
Coaching is the process of working in partnership to Redirect, Change and Support Behaviour to Improve, Reinforce and Extend Performance.
The Benefits of Coaching
Coaching will help you to:
- Improve the skill base in the workplace whilst achieving organisational goals.
- Improve individual, team and organisational performance through the development of autonomous and innovative staff.
- Build employee confidence which in turn can reduce staff turnover and therefore support organisational effectiveness and change.
- Foster organisational learning and the development of performance improvement processes.
- Create a deeper level of understanding between the coach and the person being coached.
- Ensure that skills and competencies are not lost to the competition when staff leave the business.
- Ensure that new skills and competencies are gained when new staff join the business.
- Develop innovative solutions to problems by capitalising on the hidden potential in you and your staff.
- Build a culture where ideas are shared and individuals are open to change.
Coaching can be Utilised in Many Wide-Ranging Situations:
- To support the induction of new members of the team or the introduction of new activities within the team.
- To support existing managers and staff to develop new ways of working within a changing marketplace.
- To encourage effective feedback and performance in cross-functional project-based teams.
- In the transfer of specific technical knowledge.
- To prepare and involve individuals and teams in small or large-scale organisational change.
- To develop future technical and managerial potential.
The Role of the Coach:
The role of an effective coach is to support the development of a person’s competency until they become unconsciously competent and achieve consistent, acceptable levels of performance.
Coaching is not delegation. Delegation is where a member of staff carries out a task where the primary concern is the completion of the task and not the development needs of the member of staff.

- What are your vision, values, beliefs and aspirations?

- What’s your true potential?
- What pulls you forward?
- What plans do you have to achieve it?
